You misunderstand. gnome-libs should not link to an suid
application. This means that some approaches to writing gsu are
broken, including the one that was (maybe still is) in gnome-utils.
gsu is still entirely possible to write properly, but you have to do
it without giving the GUI suid privileges, which is not rocket
science.
