gnome-terminal --use-factory

I have just been looking at the latest gnome-terminal and I'm very pleased
to see the --use-factory and --start-factory-server options added by John
Harper, allowing additional terminals to be started as part of the
original process, with a decent memory saving.

The bit that concerns me is that this is not the default behaviour? I see
from the changelog that Jacob made this change explicitly - What was the
thinking behind this? I usually start my terminals using a keybinding in
Sawmill, and I only found out about the above options by accident
(actually I was just about to take a stab at coding it myself :-)

I would have thought that --use-factory would be the prefered default in
most cases, and that people who definitely want seperate processes could
specify a --no-factory option.
