That's more of a gnomemm bug than a gtkmm bug.
Peter, if you do this, and if you find that gnome-vfs uses GObject, then
you will want to use gtkmmproc. Just ask if you need help with that.
You almost certainly will need to depend on glibmm (currently part of
gtkmm, not in the future) so you can use Glib::ustring.
