window manager kills itself and respawns

hi,

i don't exactly know where to put this problem (is it a metacity issue ?
is it a gnome-session issue ? is it something else issue ?) since a
couple of days i am realizing that when using apps that for around 1
second every now and then the window manager gets killed and respawned
within 1 second. bad sideeffect is that the window after kill and
respawn is placed somewhere else on the system. this is still valid with
a fresh rebuild of gnome using the gnome-2-0 branches. any ideas ? can
someone at least confirm this ?

in worst case i fill a bug against metacity for this.
