Before that time, tho, it would be most lovely to see Nautilus support
at least basic EA/ACL editing,
yeah. This requires an agreement on "standard" extended attributes, so
Nautilus can provide common-sense UIs for them, and a generic UI for
those attributes "not covered by the standard". Think "comments",
"keywords" and the like. Perhaps the file format supports these kinds
of attributes, but EAs could be a way to support them if the file format
didn't.
and also make sure it cleanly handles
copying and moving files about with losing EA info. That's a step
that's beneficial no matter how one looks at it. ^,^
