The more appropriate place for reporting bugs is
http://bugzilla.gnome.org, although it's acceptable to ask here.

About your problem itself. The 2.6 version is too old I suppose, there
is already gnome-terminal 2.15. Newer versions work as expected, so an
upgrade should help you.
