Is there a technical reason for this naming, or it's just political?

The project will call them French translations of Unicode character
names (and will name the source, of course). Will that be a technically
incorrect term?
There are lots of other translatable things in this project that ISO/IEC
10646 doesn't define or care about, like character comments. It will be
wrong to name it ISO/IEC 10646.

Would you please name a few which are relevant to this discussion?
