A .0 (as in 3.0) release is not for everybody. Maybe distributions
currently runs on the 2.x branch while GNOME is ironing out the 3.x
branch. Apparently you should wait until the next cycle to give it
another try and see if the bugs affecting you have been fixed.
Thanks.

Ok, and while gnome 3.X (X > 2) is not available what we (end users)
do?? close the notebook, and come back to windows?? change distribution? (
several days in pain)...
I think gnome 2.32 should stay available (without updates, perhaps..)
until a reliable 3.X version is available.
A problem in gnome (may be an application that aborts, or a problem with
panel, or wireless...) is tolerated, but with version 3.0, the whole notebook
is useless. Linux does not have support for the 3D acceleration in the
great number of notebooks aged 1 year..
Question: is it possible to restore the nautilus and the "old panel" and the
desktop icons in the Gnome 3.0???
that would solve the problems....
Thanks
