If you sit down at someone else's computer it is useful to be able to
switch to a different set of key bindings. For example, with Matlab
under Linux, the first thing I would do when taking over someone else's
session is to change from Emacs-style key bindings to the Windows-style
key bindings. I didn't have to close all the open models and restart
for this to take effect. It was easy to revert back afterwards.
