Don't we all? :^)

I think there was a bit of discussion of extending the sidebar tree to
include something like this - I am not sure if someone is working on it
yet though, maybe someone is?

Anyway, something like this:

.----------------------------.
Sidebar tree [x]
----------------------------
.Network Neighbourhood......
| v Windows workgroups | <- samba servers and windows machines
    v Tigert Workgroup
         Laptop
         Samba Server

| v Appletalk Network | <- appletalk stuff (netatalk)
      mymac

| > NFS Shares | <- query for NFS servers on local LAN

|.Digital Cameras (gphoto)...| <- would show if there is one plugged?

.Recent Network Shares......
   "Scratch/" on Laptop
   "storage/" on bigserver
   "ogg/" on bigserver
...
`----------------------------'

Netatalk is not implemented yet in gnome-vfs as far as I know.

But something like the above. I am sure there are other possibilities
and more things to add too. The recent shares would be sort of like
Galeon's automatic bookmarks of most often visited stuff. That way you
dont necessarily need to "mount" the thing anywhere (nautilus' SMB stuff
does not mount the devices with smbmount, it just accesses the shares
via the vfs module as far as I know)

This might perhaps be an useful feature that might make me use the
sidebar, who knows :-)

More useful on large LANs though with more users and hosts.
