It is possible with some ugly hackery. Look into gnome-print-rgbp in gnome-print,
how things are done there.
Still I'd suggest to switch to gnome-print for outputting, so you can much better
fine-tune your output resolution etc.
There is even gnome-print-pixbuf printing context (driver), that generates GdkPixbufs from
print job, which you can later grab and do watever you want.
