You are muddying the issue a bit here. The release team manager posting
a release announcement is hardly "any johnny posting whatever he likes".
It would be remiss not to give Jeff and the rest of the release team due
credit for the job they have done consistently and mostly unrewardingly
over a number of years. Part of that credit is that we trust them to
operate with the best of intentions. I would hope that people are not
going to blow this issue out of proportion and try to take away that
trust because of a single disagreement.
Please distinguish an innocent mistake (the case under consideration)
from rampant anarchy.
I do not like 2.5.3's title, but I have great admiration for the hard
work of all the release team members, so it would be nice to avoid any
ad hominem attacks.
