not necessary...

just run 2 linux's on one machine with chroot.
All you do is create a dir, cp -a / <newdir>
Whenever you want to be in that environment,
cd <dir>; chroot bin/bash

If you're using Debian you can just extract base2_1.tar.gz into it, which
is about 10MB.
