the issue seems to be in sawfish for this one (well partly anyhow). when
i run sawfish mplayer gets covered by the panel, when i run metacity
this doesn't happen. so perhaps sawfish isn't putting the mplayer
fullscreen window high-up enough. but i agree, it would be nice to be
able to change the stacking layer of the gnome-panel (without resorting
to various hacks (changing it in sawfish's config?)).
